How To Use Lariam
LARIAM: Take with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. Do not take this on an empty stomach. Take LARIAM as prescribed for full course of treatment. It is important you not miss any doses and that you take the drug on a regularly scheduled basis.

LARIAM is used to treat and prevent malaria.
Lariam Precautions
Tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history including any psychiatric disorders, heart problems, seizure disorders and any allergies you may have, especially allergies to other drugs. Use with caution in children. LARIAM should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. This drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.
Lariam Drug Interactions
Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of beta-blockers (e.g., atenolol, propranolol), chloroquine, quinine, quinidine and valproic acid. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Lariam Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include vomiting and diarrhea.
Lariam Notes
Periodic eye examinations are recommended while taking LARIAM.
Missed Lariam Dose
If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
