2- For the treatment of PULMONARY EMBOLISM AND INFARCTION
3- For the maintenance treatment of ATRIAL FIBRILLATION
This medicine is an anticoagulant (blood thinner) --
It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor
How To Use This Medicine
Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label, unless instructed differently by your doctor
* This medicine can be taken with or without food, REGARDLESS of meal times. If stomach upset occurs, take with food.
What To Do If You Miss A Dose
Take when remembered unless time for next dose. No double doses.
How To Store This Medicine
Keep in original closed container in a dark, cool, and dry place away from children. Discard unneeded medicine.
Other Side Effects
Yellowing of eyes or skin; Liver toxicity (yellow eyes or skin); Diarrhea; Abdominal discomfort or pain; Vomiting; Decreased
appetite; Baldness; Skin inflammation; Mouth ulcers; Severe skin itching with patches; Nausea; Unusual bleeding or bruising.
If symptoms are mild but do not go away or are bothersome, check with your doctor. IF ANY OF THE ABOVE SIDE EFFECTS IS SEVERE,
CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY.
Precautions And Warnings
* This medicine is CONTRAINDICATED for use during pregnancy. CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY IF PREGNANT or intend to become
pregnant.
* Avoid taking aspirin or other salicylates with this medication.
* DO NOT change your eating habits of green leafy vegetables..
* AVOID taking over-the-counter (non-prescription) drugs without Doctors permission.
* Notify physician if there are symptoms that suggest BLEEDING, such as black tarry stools or coffee ground vomit.
* DO NOT change your eating habits of fish, liver, green tea or tomatoes.
* DO NOT DRINK alcoholic beverages or take alcohol-containing preparations while being treated with this medicine without
physicians approval.
* Inform physician or dentist that you are taking this medicine BEFORE HAVING ANY KIND OF SURGERY including dental surgery or
medical procedure.
* Because of INTERACTION with other drugs, report the use of any other prescription and nonprescription medicines to your
doctor.
* It is important that you keep your follow-up appointments with your physician.
* Do not switch brands without your physicians approval.
